1.What is Peppermint oil?
Peppermint, one of the largest spice plants, is cultivated in China. Peppermint oil is the important raw materials for medicine, candy, tobacco, alcohol, beverages and other industries. Our peppermint oil has high internal quality. The ratio of menthone and different menthone is more than 2, and the alcohol content of new peppermint is less than 3%. It is a colorless or pale yellow liquid with special cool scent and sharp taste at beginning then cold. It is can be mixed with ethanol, chloroform or ether at random.Peppermint oil is a colorless or light yellow clarified liquid. It has a special cool aroma, and the flavor is pungent at first and cool later. It is an aromatic, flavoring and carminative. It can be used to produce a cooling sensation on the skin or mucous membranes to relieve discomfort and pain. It also has the ability to soothe the liver, regulate qi, and benefit the gallbladder. It is mainly used for chronic stone cholecystitis, chronic cholecystitis and gallstones with liver and gallbladder stagnation, damp-heat and stomach stagnation.
2.How is Peppermint oil produced?
Peppermint (mentha piperita L) plants were cut, shade-dried and oil extracted by steam distillation. The oil yield was 0.1% to 0.3% of the fresh material. Ester content Take about 5g of this product, weigh it precisely, put it in a flask, add neutral ethanol (neutral to phenolphthalein indicator solution) 10ml and mix it, add 2 drops of phenolphthalein indicator solution, first neutralize the free acid with 0.1mol/L ethanol potassium hydroxide solution and then add 25ml of ethanol potassium hydroxide titrant (0.5mol/L), reflux it on a water bath for 1 hour, put it to cool down and then add 0.5ml of phenolphthalein indicator solution to titrate the remaining potassium hydroxide with hydrochloric acid titrant (0.5mol/L) and correct the titration result with a blank test, it is obtained. Add 0.5ml of phenolphthalein indicator solution, titrate the remaining potassium hydroxide with hydrochloric acid titrant (0.5mol/L), and correct the result of titration with blank test. Each 1ml of potassium hydroxide titrant made of ethanol (0.5mol/L) is equivalent to 99.15mg of menthyl acetate (C12H22O2).
3.How is Peppermint oil stored and distributed?
Store under dry inert gas, keep container tightly closed, store in a cool, dry place Packed in galvanized iron drums. Store in a cool, ventilated place. The storage should be dedicated and not mixed with other items. Pay attention to fire prevention. Polymerization inhibitor should be added before storage and transportation. Before transportation, check whether the packing container is complete and sealed, and make sure the container is not leaking, collapsing, falling or damaged during transportation. Strictly prohibit mixing and transporting with oxidizing agents, acids, alkalis, edible chemicals and so on. The transport vehicle and ship must be thoroughly cleaned and sterilized, otherwise it is not allowed to ship other items. When transported by ship, the fitting position should be far away from bedrooms, kitchens, and isolated from the cabin, power supply, fire source and other parts. Road transportation should follow the prescribed route.
