1.What is Eucalyptol?
1. Used and stored according to specifications, no decomposition will occur, avoid contact with oxides. 2. Chemical properties: It is an extremely stable compound, does not decompose by distillation at atmospheric pressure, and does not act with reducing agents. It reacts with hydrogen bromide to form adduct C8H18O-HBr (m.p. 56~57℃). When oxidized with potassium permanganate, it produces eucalyptus brain acid (m.p. 204~206°C). Addition products can also be generated with phenols and phosphoric acid. 3. Exists in baking tobacco, white ribbed tobacco, and spice tobacco. 4. Naturally occurring in eucalyptus oil, rosemary oil, camphor oil, bay leaf oil, etc. 5. Water solubility: practically insoluble; water solubility: 3.5 g/l 21 °C; miscible: chloroform, alcohol, aether
2.How is Eucalyptol produced?
Eucalyptus brain is widely found in natural aromatic oils and is the main component of eucalyptus oil. Eucalyptus brain can be produced from aromatic oil. For example, eucalyptus oil can be fractionally distilled, and the 175-180℃ fraction can be collected and slightly refined. If it is necessary to manufacture products with higher purity, the eucalyptus brain obtained from the fractionation of aromatic oil can be cooled and dried by passing it through HCI. The hydrochloric acid and eucalyptus crystals are separated, the crystals are decomposed with hot water, and then pure eucalyptus brain is obtained by distillation. Synthesis method is to convert terpenes into acid, and then dehydration and obtained.
3.How is Eucalyptol stored and distributed?
Store under dry inert gas, keep container tightly closed, store in a cool, dry place Packed in galvanized iron drums. Store in a cool, ventilated place. The storage should be dedicated and not mixed with other items. Pay attention to fire prevention. Polymerization inhibitor should be added before storage and transportation. Before transportation, check whether the packing container is complete and sealed, and make sure the container is not leaking, collapsing, falling or damaged during transportation. Strictly prohibit mixing and transporting with oxidizing agents, acids, alkalis, edible chemicals and so on. The transport vehicle and ship must be thoroughly cleaned and sterilized, otherwise it is not allowed to ship other items. When transported by ship, the fitting position should be far away from bedrooms, kitchens, and isolated from the cabin, power supply, fire source and other parts. Road transportation should follow the prescribed route.
4.What is Eucalyptol used for?
Pharmaceuticals: Eucalyptol has antibacterial, anti-inflammatory, analgesic and other pharmacological effects, and is commonly used in pharmaceutical formulations as a topical disinfectant, analgesic and anti-inflammatory agent. It can be used to treat skin infections, eczema, burns, muscle pain and other diseases. Oral Care: Eucalyptol has antiseptic properties and is commonly used in oral care products such as toothpastes, mouthwashes and oral sprays. It can help prevent oral infections and bad breath, and soothe oral discomfort. Eucalyptus oil has the effect of activating blood circulation and removing blood stasis, regulating qi and relieving pain, and can be used to treat bruises, pain in the stomach and abdomen, vomiting blood, hemoptysis, blood in the stool and other symptoms.
