Citric acid solution is a natural and effective cleaning agent that is ideal for cleaning dirt, mineral deposits and odors from home appliances. Citric acid has good acidity and can easily break down scale and accumulated grease. It is not only environmentally friendly, but also reduces the use of chemical cleaning agents. Here are a few ways to use citric acid solution to clean home appliances:
1. Cleaning the dishwasher
Dishwashers are prone to accumulate scale, grease and odors during long-term use. Citric acid solution can effectively clean the inside of the dishwasher.
Method: Place 1-2 spoons of citric acid powder in the bottom of the dishwasher or in the dedicated cleaning tank (depending on the capacity of the dishwasher). Run the empty wash program of the dishwasher and select the high temperature mode. The acidity of citric acid will help remove scale and grease stains and freshen the air.
Effect: Clean the inside of the dishwasher, remove accumulated scale, and keep the machine in optimal condition.
2. Cleaning the refrigerator
Refrigerators are prone to accumulate food residues and odors. Citric acid solution can help remove these unpleasant odors and keep the refrigerator clean.
Method: Wipe the shelves, drawers, door seals and other areas inside the refrigerator with a citric acid solution (a ratio of citric acid to water is 1:10). You can also use the solution to clean the outside of the refrigerator.
Effect: Removes refrigerator odors, cleans accumulated stains, and keeps the refrigerator fresh.
3. Cleaning the kettle
The kettle is a common area for scale accumulation, and the citric acid solution can quickly and effectively remove scale.
Method: Add 1-2 spoons of citric acid powder to the kettle and fill it with water. Heat it to boiling and let it cool and stand for 15-20 minutes. Then pour out the solution and rinse it thoroughly with clean water.
Effect: Remove scale from the kettle, maintain heating efficiency, and extend the life of the kettle.
4. Cleaning the coffee machine
The interior of the coffee machine will deposit scale due to minerals in the water, affecting the taste of the coffee and the performance of the machine. Citric acid solution is ideal for cleaning the coffee machine.
Method: Add 1–2 spoons of citric acid powder to the water tank and run the empty coffee machine cycle program. Then rinse with clean water several times to ensure that the solution is completely removed.
Effect: Remove scale and minerals inside the coffee machine, improve the performance of the coffee machine, and extend its service life.
5. Clean the microwave
Microwave ovens often accumulate food splashes, and citric acid solution can easily remove these stubborn stains.
Method: Spray the citric acid solution on the stains in the microwave, let it stand for a few minutes, and then wipe it clean with a damp cloth. You can also add citric acid solution to a heat-resistant bowl and heat it for a few minutes to let the steam soften the stains before wiping it.
Effect: Remove oil stains, food residues and stains in the microwave and restore the brightness.
6. Clean the oven
Ovens are also prone to grease and food residues. Citric acid solution helps remove grease and food deposits.
Method: Spray the citric acid solution on the inner wall of the oven and the baking tray, let it stand for a few minutes, and then wipe it clean with a damp cloth or sponge. For stubborn stains, you can use citric acid solution to heat the steam, soften it, and wipe it.
Effect: Removes grease and dirt, making the oven look brand new inside and out.
7. Cleaning the washing machine
The inner tank and pipes of the washing machine may accumulate dirt or scale due to long-term use. Citric acid solution can help remove these stains and keep the washing machine clean.
Method: Put 2-3 spoons of citric acid powder into the washing tank or barrel of the washing machine, and start the washing machine for the empty wash program. Select the hot water circulation mode to clean the inside of the washing machine.
Effect: Remove scale, remove odors, and keep the washing machine running efficiently.
8. Cleaning the air purifier
The filter and interior of the air purifier are also prone to dust and dirt accumulation. Citric acid solution can be used to clean these parts.
Method: Spray the citric acid solution on the filter and gently wipe to remove dust. Make sure the filter is completely dry before reinstalling it into the air purifier.
Effect: Effectively remove dirt and bacteria on the filter to keep the air fresh.
