[Description]:
Ascorbyl Stearate is an ester formed from ascorbic acid and stearic acid. In addition to its use as a source of Vitamin C, it is used as an antioxidant food additive in margarine (E number E305). Ascorbyl Stearate is colourless crystals or a white or almost white. Crystalline power which discolours on exposure to air and moisture. Ascorbyl Stearate is odorless or almost odorless and tasted sour. It can be soluble in water and a few partail soluble in ethanol. But it is insoluble in ether and chloroform.
